For formatting hard Windows, you will take a Startup Floppy Disk and a Windows Installing CD Note: We recommend applying the Startup Diskette.
Once you get your Startup Diskette, enter it into the floppy drive and reboot the PC.
Choose option #1 - Start the PC with CD-ROM backup.
After a minute or so, you will see "A:>_".
Typecast "fdisk" and press out Enter.
If asked to enable important disc backup, Select Y for Yes. (Note: Some versions of Windows 95 may not be harmonious with big disc backup. Select N here if it does not backup the FAT32 file system.)
Choose Option #1 - Make DOS partition or Logical DOS Drive.
Select Option #1 - Make Primary DOS Partition.
The drive wholeness will be verified.
Unless you are planning to take multiple partitions, Select Y when required if you desire to use the maximal free size for the partition and to make the partition effective.
The drive integrity will be verified again.
When complete urge the Esc key to exit fdisk.
Without removing the floppy disk, press out the reset button on the PC or press out the keys Ctrl then Alt then Delete and loose them together. This will restart the PC.
Over Again, Select the alternative to Start the PC with CD-ROM backup.
When you mark A:>, instantly above it is a content about your CD-ROM drive. It will state you the letter specified to your CD-ROM drive, take line of it.
At the A:>, typewrite "format C:" and press Enter.
Press out the Y key then the enter key when required if you want to carry on with the HDformat.
It will take several minutes to format the hard drive.
You will be asked to pick out a Volume Label, which is a name for your hard drive. It gets no result on the operation of your computer, you may pick whatever name you want.
