To format hard disc drive with Windows XP or 2000, put in XP CD and reboot your computer.
Your PC should automatically reboot from the CD to the Windows XP Setup Main Menu.
At the Welcome to Setup page, press ENTER.
Press F8 to receive the Windows XP Licensing Agreement.
If an existing Windows XP installation is noticed, you are prompted to fix it. To bypass the repair, press ESC.
Role the ARROW keys to select the partition or the unpartitioned space where you want to create a different partition. Press Out D to delete an active partition, or push C to create a other partition.
Typecast the size in MB that you want to role for the other partition, and so press out ENTER, or just press ENTER to create the partition with the maximum size.
Take the format choice that you want to use for the partition (Recommended: NTFS), and then press out ENTER.
After the Windows XP setup program data formats the partition, follow the instructions that appear on the screen to proceed installing Windows.
